Alison Moore is a visual artist from Houston, Texas. In the
spring of 2011 she received her Bachelor of the Fine Arts from
Maryland Institute College of Art. Her main bodies of work focus
on fiber and drawing, although other mediums include sound,
video, animation, and sculpture. The artwork analyzes a myriad
of topics, not limited to politics, mental illness, meditation, and
spirituality.
Moore has already been included in important exhibitions at
the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in both 2006 and 2007.
She also exhibited work at the Corcoran Gallery and the Old Post
Office Pavilion in 2006. In addition her pieces have shown in
galleries at the Maryland Institute College of Art from 2007 to
2011. While continuing her career as an artist, Moore plans to
pursue studies in psychology and gain licensure as a psychologist.
She intends to use her position as an artist to help others heal,
express themselves, and explore their own individuality.
